Macy has a passion for Interior Design and the challenges of finding solutions that bring the client's visions to life. Macy studied and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design from the CIDA accredited program at the Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg. She now prides herself in creating beautiful spaces with purpose and function for individual needs, while maintaining her eye for detail to ensure a design that will last a lifetime.
Darlene H. Weaver, CKD, CBD, ASID, NCIDQ, CAPS
Darlene is a Nationally Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD), a Nationally Certified Bath Designer (CBD), and is licensed by the state of Illinois as a Registered Interior Designer. Darlene founded Distinctive Designs in 1990. Distinctive Designs has also been awarded the Small Business Owner of the Year by the Springfield Chamber of Commerce and the Illinois Governor's Small Business Person of the Year. Darlene has passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and is a member of the prestigious American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and is Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS).
The Design Team
Lucy loves exploring other cultures and architecture and applying them to her own designs. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the CIDA accredited program at Iowa State University. Lucy strives to help clients turn their dreams into their realities. Her theory is that a home is a showcase for a family's personality. She works to build strong designs, as well as, strong relationships with her clients.
William L. Skeens, CKD, CAPS
Bill earned his National Certification as a Kitchen Designer in 1995. With his wife, Darlene Weaver, they started Distinctive Designs in 1990. Bill was the manufacturer representative for Wood-Mode Fine Custom Cabinetry for downstate Illinois and Indiana for 3 1/2 years where he recruited new dealers and trained them on product knowledge, sales, design and lifestyle themes. Bill returned to Distinctive Designs in 2007 to resume his career as a Senior Designer. Bill has since passed the Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) program offered by the National Association of Home Builders.
