| Dawn and Brian Moulton were declared the winners of the Ugly Kitchen Contest sponsored by Distinctive Designs, The Arizona Tile Company and Dick VanDyke Appliance World last fall. Brian was deployed to Iraq on his and Dawn's first wedding anniversary. Tackling home improvement projects was a theme in their young marriage affecting every room of the two bedroom ranch-style home in a mature Springfield neighborhood, except the kitchen! While immaculately clean and well-cared for, the kitchen was original to the 1950's era house. Cursed with metal cabinets, atomic yellow boomerang counter tops with a metal edge and four different finishes on the four existing appliances, yes it was UGLY! | ||
